This is my pyramid of energy foldable.  It has flaps that open to show the different levels of consumers (with a picture) and their trophic level.

Here are my activities for ecological succession.

PRIMARY SUCCESSION

I have taught my students ecological succession for several years.  All I could find online was diagrams/pictures of primary & secondary succession.  This wasn’t good enough for me.  I wanted something more interactive that allowed students to show ecological succession in action.  So I created this activity that requires students to cut out the pieces and place them in order for primary and secondary succession.

You could have students place this activity in a interactive notebook.  Or you could laminate the background and the pieces so you could use over and over again.  I don’t laminate anymore myself because it takes too much time.  I just print the activity & pieces on cardstock.  Then I cut the pieces and place them in ziplock bags to use over and over again.
